In this movie I will show you how to create cell references that change, or dont change, when a formula is copied to another cell.

In this workbook I have a single worksheet and on it I have an investment value and annual growth rate and I want to create a series of formulas that will calculate the value for the investment in coming years.

So were assuming were in 2018 right now and 2019 is the next year where the investment of 180,000 will grow by 5.

To create the calculation for 2019 Ill click in cell B3 which for me is actually already selected.

Type an equals sign and then I will multiply the value in B2, so Ive typed B2 as my cell reference, and then an asterisk for multiplication, then a left parenthesis, and one plus the value in B1.

So my formula will multiply the value in B2 by one plus 5, or 1.05, and when I press return I get a value of.
